When it comes to window tinting, there are installers, there are experienced installers, and then there’s Chris Peterson. With more than 25 years of professional window tinting experience, Chris has taken his craft to a level few installers ever reach. Originally from Maryland, Chris moved to Charlotte approximately five years ago to join the Sun Stoppers family. Today he is one of the team leaders at our Matthews flagship location.

Chris approaches window tinting almost like a master chef approaches a signature dish. He has his own techniques, finishing touches, and an incredible eye for the smallest details. He’s especially skilled with challenging curved rear windows, where experience, patience, and precision make the difference. Every vehicle gets his personal touch. Chris is also a multiple-time window tint competition champion, testing his skills against other elite installers.

Meet Gordon Stegall

Paint Protection Film Specialist • 16+ Years with Sun Stoppers

When it comes to protecting your vehicle’s paint, Gordon Stegall is the guy you want working on your car.

Gordon has been part of the Sun Stoppers family for over 16 years, bringing a unique combination of artistic talent, technical expertise, and an incredible eye for detail to every vehicle he touches.

A Charlotte native, Gordon spent some time living in Texas before returning home to be closer to family. His creative background started long before paint protection film. With a degree in graphic design and a passion for motocross, Gordon spent time designing custom motorcycle graphics, developing the precision and artistic skills he uses today.

Today, Gordon puts that creativity to work as a paint protection film specialist at Sun Stoppers Matthews. He especially enjoys working with XPEL’s Design Access Program (DAP), using advanced digital patterns and his graphic design experience to help create precise, beautifully finished paint protection installations.

But Gordon brings more than technical skills to the table. He enjoys getting to know customers, understanding what matters to them, and making sure they feel confident about protecting their investment.

Outside the shop, you’ll find Gordon enjoying a round of golf, spending time with family, or putting his creative mind to work.

Meet Lee Taylor

The Guy Who Keeps Everything Running

Every great business has that one person who can do just about anything. At Sun Stoppers, that guy is Lee Taylor.

We call Lee our very own MacGyver because there’s almost nothing he can’t figure out, fix, or make happen.

As Operations Manager, Lee helps keep Sun Stoppers running smoothly. Whether he’s helping customers choose window tint, answering phones, tinting a vehicle, operating the film plotter, troubleshooting equipment, or solving an unexpected problem, he’s ready to jump in.

He’s the oil that keeps the Sun Stoppers machine running.

A college graduate and dedicated car enthusiast, Lee has been best friends with founder Mike Burke’s son, Colby Burke, since they were seven years old. Mike has watched Lee grow into a trusted leader within the Sun Stoppers family.

What makes Lee special isn’t only his versatility. It’s his willingness to do whatever needs to be done, whether that means supporting a customer, helping a technician, or fixing something behind the scenes.
