The founder of Sun Stoppers, Mike Burke, tinted the windows for my wife's car 15 years ago. He is a friend and always delivered more than expected as he also tinted all my vehicles and our home in Matthews. In early 2023, the tint on the rear window of the car Mike tinted (still own the car as an extra vehicle and have moved to Southport NC a few years ago) began to bubble and I knew it was time to replace it and I was happy it lasted as long as it did. I called Sun Stoppers Southport and left a message, no return call. I reached out to Mike directly and he told me the name to leave a message for. I did so, no return call. Life got busy and a couple of months went by, I called again, no return call. As a last attempt, I reached out to Mike again and he told me to call Tyler and gave me a different number. I called twice more, nothing. I am not sure why but Sun Stoppers Southport lost a customer. I was also going to get a quote about tinting our windows at our home. They get two stars instead of one because Mike returned all messages promptly and even gave me a different number to call. Very disappointing. The update is that the only way to get the damaged tint off is to scrape it off which would damage the heated rear defroster. While I have no idea if the tint could have been removed when it started bubbling, the fact that nobody called me for months certainly made it worse. Now I have to get a new windshield or decide to scrape off the heated defroster to get the existing tint off.Tyler contacted me a week later and had another idea of how to get the tint off. It took two visits but he was able to get most off and put on a new layer of film to the point it looks fantastic. Very grateful and Tyler went above and beyond. Thank you Tyler!
