There are lots of things to do and see in the bustling Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
The Westlake area was originally settled in 1847 by Charles and Matilda Medlin, along with about 20 other families. In the mid 20th century the area became a ranch, until it became incorporated in the late 1950s. At that point, the ranchers and homeowners named the area Westlake.
The city was almost disbanded in the late 1990s, and several large tracts of land were annexed into Fort Worth. However, the little city withstood the test and remains its own town today.
Today, Westlake covers 6.92 square miles and is home to almost a thousand people.
